Finally, we’ve put the finishing touches on a “one of a kind” adventure vacation that should rattle the bones of anyone who loves to fish for big trout one day and ride the great divide the next! Beginning on Wednesday, May 25th Bear Creek Ranch will be hosting a fish and ride adventure, a unique trip that will combine some of the best big trout fishing in this country along with a horseback riding option in the great Badger Two Medicine Country. In other words, fishing on day one, riding on day two with fishing in the evening, and on you go! You’ll be fishing on several of the lakes on the Blackfeet Reservation in cooperation with Running Wolf Outfitters and Tyson Running Wolf. I’ll be with you as well, every step of the way!

The driving force behind the development of the Fish and Ride adventure was to offer the combination of the two activities to take advantage of the long days in late May when it isn’t dark until 10:30. The spawn is on in the big lakes of the rez and the rainbows will break you off with 5X leader! Believe me, I know!

On day two, you’ll have the option of riding into some of the greatest country you’ll ever see, the Badger Two Medicine of northern Montana. We’re ridden that country for forty years and haven’t tired of it. It always pleases. There is nothing better than riding a good horse in good country with good people. You will love it. Plus, it’s late Spring and we will see wildlife. There are elk, deer, and moose close by and we’ll most definitely be in both black and grizzly bear habitat. Bring a camera with a telephoto lens!

Your hosts will be the staff at Bear Creek Ranch. Your home away from home will be one of our rustic and comfy guest cabins. The food served is all home cooked by Diana and her crew and I swear I’ve never heard anything but glowing compliments on their efforts. You will eat well I promise!
